One day soon, Trump is going to get told. He is going to lose.

His henchmen are not going to be willing to go to prison for him, mostly.

He is going to get the word he’s going to need to start getting ready to leave the WH.

We’ve all got our thoughts about how that will play out and I have no idea really other than this: he’s not going to be able to stay there.

I expect he’s going to try and make it as unpleasant as possible for as long as possible.

I don’t know who it is that’s going to have the responsibility of telling him the news but I bet they will relish it.

It won’t be Jared and it won’t be Miller. Will it be McConnell. Maybe the staff will smuggle in Kelly or Mattis or both. Joint chiefs?

Who will he listen to? Hannity? One of the Russians?

It would be an assemblange, including some family members, maybe even Melania.
It won't go well.

I don’t think he’ll be able to mask the sadness and anger at rallies afterwards.

...that's why he's suddenly taken the hard turn toward calling on the courts to "get rid of the ballots" and refusing to promise a peaceful transfer of power. He knows that the only way to prevent himself from facing criminal charges come January is to somehow keep himself in power, and he's currently grasping at straws on how to do it. Sadly, RBG's death has handed him a lifeline on that, as I really think he believes that a SCOTUS with Barrett added will order mail-in ballots to be left uncounted.

he knows he's going to lose much in the same way he knew covid was lethal..and that's why he's doing everything he can to "poison the well"...insisting he's winning, citing outlier Trump-friendly polls, rallying his hate-fueled base to worship at his feet, bellowing he will not go quietly, taunting Joe like a middle school mean girl.....and lastly there's Barr playing Eichmann to Trump's Hitler...this reality tv buffoon knows but only when FOX declares him the loser will he believe it...

There was a documentary on trump a while back. Some bank analyst who was familiar with trump said he never met someone more able to self delude. He said trump would spin his own failures and bankruptcies in to a win - like we’ve already seen him do.

he has zero cognitive awareness...he believes in his own delusional "magnificence", masochistically depraved in his need to hurt and destroy all those who refuse to see the "greatness" that is Trump...

... most likely by Ivanka.

After the Tulsa rally, I believe he came to the realization that his popularity among his staunchest supporters wasn't what it used to be. Over 100,000 people turned out to be 6,000 - and we've all seen the photos/videos as he landed back at the WH. That wasn't someone dealing with a temporary set-back; that was a broken man suddenly having to face reality.

I think his bravado about not leaving the WH, etc., is nothing more than theater for an audience of one - himself. No way his ego will allow him to admit inevitable defeat. It's more in keeping with his persona to pretend he's on his way to certain victory, and to conjure up far-fetched scenarios by which that can be accomplished.

Donald Trump is a very sick man, mentally and physically. And he's scared shitless about what fate awaits him once he's out of office. So it's not surprising that he would continue to play the part of the sure winner, despite knowing he's going to lose.

Is his potential to use the 'scorched earth policy' in a political way.

When Hitler eventually accepted that the Russians would prevail in the east, his response was to destroy everything prior to the advance of the Red Army. No matter that ethnic Germans suffered in Czechoslovakia or Poland. Nothing must be left for the Russians.

Trump doesn't have the capabilities to bomb and burn buildings but he can use the power of the presidency to further unwind the progress made by Obama and Biden. He, and his pathetic lacky of an AG can (and probably will) with the support of McConnell set back progress by decades, leaving the ruins for Joe and Kamala to pick up and fix.

... however he'll always believe he can bullshit his way to a victory. He'll always think that "his people" will believe him no matter what. And they will believe him, until they finally wake up and realize they've been deceived all along.

It's going to get ugly.

Trump is in full Adolph-in-the-bunker-mode now. He doesn't have actual advisers, he has people who tell him things so he won't get angry at them.
