Democrats say Republicans will pay price at polls for confirming Barrett

Senior congressional Democrats on Sunday warned that Senate Republicans will pay a price for rushing to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court before Election Day.

President Donald Trump formally announced Barrett’s nomination to succeed the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Saturday. Her confirmation hearing, which will last three to four days, will begin Oct. 12, setting the stage for a possible floor vote ahead of Election Day.

“The election is, what, 37 days from now?” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “The next election, and the senators have to remember this, the next election is 38 days from now.”

If Senate Republicans vote to confirm Barrett, all but assuring that Obamacare and its protections for people with preexisting conditions are overturned, Pelosi warned, “They will be seeing elections that look exactly like 2018 over and over again.”

that could cost democrats severely. Don;t fall into that trap. Go at here for her lack of veracity and honesty based on what she has said in the past

They will accuse Dems of attacking her on those rather than her hurtful unconstitutional views. I think we can make the case. Avoid some Bork'ing" mistakes but otherwise work her over as outside the norms of a Justices overseeing Constitutional rule rather than her Religious adherence.

be effective in solidifying the lack of veracity in the nominee, the president who appointed her and the gOP senators who confirm her. What we MUST NOT DO IS make the same mistakes that were made with Kavanuagh and turn her into a victim.

But you and I believe "Black-out-drunk" Justices are highly suspect and deserving no compassion as victims.

hoping for same and to tell you the truth, I am half afraid democrats will fall into trap. Attacking personnel beliefs, being a female, attacking religion beliefs, this should steered away from. Attack veracity. That is a winner always

Republicans have such a victim complex that they'll twist Democrats' words to make Barrett out to be a victim she isn't.

Speaker Pelosi is a breath of fresh air. If the Ds handle this right and do not let Barrett became a martyr for the RWNJs and just nail her on her own words without dissing religion, they will inflict maximum damage on November 3.

The Rs have the votes, but something new can surface. Even if Barrett gets confirmed, the process will so greatly alienate so many voters of goodwill and will probably help energize the young voters. Just don't make her a rallying cry for the right that Kavanaugh became.

(Totally as an aside, but can you imagine how uncomfortable that Beerbong Brett will make the pious and virtuous Amy feel!)

The Republicans have been warned. We will be avenged in January 2021.

think it's worth paying that price to get a rigid right wing ideologue on the Court for the next 30 years.
