President Donald Trump waded into Florida affairs Sunday, condemning Democrat Mike Bloomberg for fundraising to pay off the fines of 32,000 reformed felons, allowing a pathway for them to vote in November.
The President echoed and amplified the concerns of Florida Republicans in a pyrotechnic Sunday morning tweet, saying the payouts amount to a serious crime, a bribe to recipients to vote Democratic.
Wow, nobody realized how far Mini Mike Bloomberg went in bribing ex-prisoners to go out and vote for Sleepy Joe. He is desperate to get back into the good graces of the people who not only badly beat him, but made him look like a total fool. Now hes committed a serious crime!
As is often the case, the President amped up the rhetoric, giving new visibility to concerns raised last week by some of his staunchest supporters in the Sunshine State.
Bloombergs $16 million commitment to pay the debts of potential voters via the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, which includes over $5 million in his personal fortune, has roiled Florida Republicans.

(22,031 posts)You've accused many people of many crimes. You're the Chief Executive of the United States and your job is to enforce the laws.
Where are the indictments?

(2,336 posts)or even if they would vote. The point is they should have their right to vote restored. Why Republicans will do absolutely anything to stop people from voting should be the question.
I've been telling everyone to register and vote -- not who to vote for, but just to vote. I've told people to get informed about the issues that matter to them and find out what the candidates are saying; still not telling them who to vote for. I do make a point of saying Facebook and Fox News are not good sources of info tho.

(21,560 posts)the people of Florida already passed a statewide initiative to restore voting rights which the state government trampled on by passing the poll tax. BTW there is no law that says you cannot pay a person's fine, which is all the Coalition, with Bloomberg's donations, is doing. There is no vow or promise to support any candidate, or even vote at all.
Does he really think that blasting this, when the majority of Floridians want it, is going to help him????????

(64,995 posts)...where would he get the money.
The pandemic effect on commercial real estate likely has debt load high than asset value.
He wouldn't be able to come up with $16 million in cash.

(3,815 posts)Bloomberg has every right to donate to Florida Rights Restoration Coalition just like any other citizen. All Trump has is projection and bullshit.
Vote him out!

(64,995 posts)Not that donating to this commission constitutes one, but I thought that if it was in the public interest a quid pro quo wasn't illegal. Giuliano & PINO both said that.
Well, helping people regain their right to vote seems in the public interest.
Can't have it both ways Donnie-boy.
