I have MSNBC on, and I believe it's a replay of a show from earlier today, but Tom Brokaw called in:
"I believe that whoever wins, whether it's Trump or the Senator, they will say "We can't go on like this, we have to bring the country together."
I don't think that will happen. I think that if Trump gets a second term, he'll be so emboldened and will feel like he doesn't need to charm ANYONE outside of his base...hell, he won't even need THEM any more, because everything is based on transactions for him, and all his base has to offer him is their vote...he'll just go full-bore fascist and won't give a damn about the carnage. His way of bringing the country together will be to send more armed militias out in the streets to take down dissenters.

(16,820 posts)we have between the Democrats and Republicans these days. He wouldn't all of a sudden start bringing everyone together after he's worked so hard to divide. No, if he wins, he'll be convinced he's bulletproof and will only get worse. I'm convinced it's his ultimate goal to start a civil war, whether a hot or cold one. I'm not sure it's what he personally wants, but I believe it's what some of the people behind him want. It might be the only way he would be able to avoid punishment, also.
