1. I don't think that is the only reason but yeah it is a reason.

The primary reason is Moscow Mitch has a once in a generation chance to shift the court deep red for decades to come. He would strangle his own mother to death for that. Nothing absolutely nothing will stop him even if it costs him the majority and he never accomplishes anything significant ever again.

However this is why people need to vote EARLY. As early as humanly possible. Relying on a 14 day extended count is just begging to get disenfranchised when the Republicans pull the football away at the last minute.
