Whoa! My right wing sister has moved all the way from simply giving up on Trump...

...to voting for Biden!

Back in late May I posted this: Be on the lookout for flying cows and frost warnings from Hell!

...about how Trump's handling of COVID finally broke through her denial and her Fox News talking points and defenses (which had been in full force just a few weeks before), so she just couldn't vote for Trump anymore.

At that time, however, she was still on her anti-Biden talking points, and said she'd probably vote Libertarian.

I haven't talked politics at all with her since then, as I was just going to give her space after this big a change... and then I just heard from my nephew that she's gone all the way over to Biden since then!

I checked her Facebook page, and she's still putting everything in terms of her Christianity (which maybe isn't so right wing anymore?), but she's got stuff defending Biden from unfair attacks, pro-BLM articles and memes, an article about how Christians can vote for Democrats and about how Republicans have manipulated Christians with the abortion issue... it's quite a change.

I certainly hope she's a sign of changes that could be happening in more people!

Oh... I should add: She's in Ohio!

...and often got angry when I thought about the idea of talking to her, because of all the things I'd want to say, but I'd normally keep bottled up.

Perhaps deciding to let some of that anger go, and going ahead with having a bit of an angry talk with her about Trump, made part of the difference in changing her mind.

Another part of it, from what I hear, is that she was rightly concerned about COVID, and did not like how so many of her right-wing friends were going along with anti-masking, anti-shutdown talking points. I think that became a big part of how she finally started to see how much misinformation in so many forms was being spread.

Angry truckers turn on Trump over failed promises: ‘Prove me wrong Mr. President’

According to a report from Business Insider, long haul truckers who went for Trump in the 2016 election are quickly turning on him as they have seen their take-home pay collapse while the president has failed to come through on helping them out.

Last week the truckers held a protest outside of a White House Rose Garden press conference, honking their horns to disrupt the president — only to have the Trump tell reporters they were expressing their “love’ for him.

That, in turn, angered truckers even more.

“In fact, it’s a protest on what truck drivers say is a lack of transparency in how their rates are calculated. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, their pay has sank to unusually low rates,” the report states before adding, “Some 100 to 200 truck drivers have parked in Washington, DC, since May 1, according to Todd Spencer, who is the president of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association. For weeks, these drivers have sacrificed their pay to protest. ”

He has really, really pissed us off, luckily, I have a very good agent that usually gets me good paying loads and he tries to keep me in the S. Western part of the US.

I know of two Trump voters who are not only voting for Biden now, but the mother discovered he is Roman Catholic like her and excited to vote for him. The daughter has awoken to the BS and politics in general as her mother high risk for the virus—after her 50 years she has became a quick study of the candidates and politic history. She now is a very outspoken critic of Trump.

The Rethugs went after the church-going folk many years ago, because they're clearly easily led and will believe incredible things without any evidence. I was raised strict Catholic, including school, but since about age 13, I have rejected religion because I have a conscience and can think critically for myself. None of it made any sense to me. When I would challenge the nuns on a point they couldn't explain, their pat reply was, "There are some things we're not supposed to understand." I was not satisfied with that answer.

Early religion was created to explain the unexplainable and then to control people. Modern religion is all about the Benjamins. It's a GD scam of epic proportions that's been going on for a very long time. Remember the story about the moneychangers in the church that caused Jesus to get pissed off the only time in the New Testament? Ever been to the Vatican? The priceless artifacts you see are a small percentage of what they have in storage. Tax the churches until they are run out of business. We don't need them. Besides, the Bible says to pray in a closet and that your relationship with God is personal.

"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." -- M Gandhi

Trump Secretly Mocks His Christian Supporters
September 29, 2020 at 7:54 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

McKay Coppins: “The president’s alliance with religious conservatives has long been premised on the contention that he takes them seriously, while Democrats hold them in disdain. In speeches and interviews, Trump routinely lavishes praise on conservative Christians, casting himself as their champion. ‘My administration will never stop fighting for Americans of faith,’ he declared at a rally for evangelicals earlier this year. It’s a message his campaign will seek to amplify in the coming weeks as Republicans work to confirm Amy Coney Barrett—a devout, conservative Catholic—to the Supreme Court.”

“But in private, many of Trump’s comments about religion are marked by cynicism and contempt, according to people who have worked for him. Former aides told me they’ve heard Trump ridicule conservative religious leaders, dismiss various faith groups with cartoonish stereotypes, and deride certain rites and doctrines held sacred by many of the Americans who constitute his base.”
