One of the best and cheapest forms of voter suppression is sowing doubt that your vote will not count. Trump is cheap and that is what he is doing. The majority of people are motivated when they know their vote will count. This is scientific and counter to what some bed wetters constantly post on DU. IT IS COUNTER PRODUCTIVE!!

...because it really doesn't explain how the election might be thrown to the House. Usually, when you have that possibility, it's because there was a strong third-party candidacy (Wallace in 1968, Anderson in 1980) that had the potential to win one or more states, meaning that there was the real possibility of a three-way split in electoral votes leaving no one with a majority. But, with only two candidates with a chance of winning states, it would appear that one or the other is bound to get to the required 270 electoral votes. The only scenario one might see if Trump loses and tries to undo the election would be if he got Repug state legislatures to appoint favorable electors despite the decision of the voters in the state, and that scenario would be one where SCOTUS would have to decide whether that was permissible or not (there are arguments on both sides). And, either way the Court were to rule, one of the two candidates would wind up with 270 EV or more, so that wouldn't go to the House, either.

But how I understood it, this whole scenario is triggered by Trump creating a situation in which he says the election voting was faulty and he refuses to concede the loss. Biden claims the win and refuses to concede the loss. So the Supreme Court rules it should be decided in the House according to the constitution. Something along that line. In other words Trump says the whole voting system cannot be trusted to decide the winner.
