Re Amy Coney Barrett and virtue-based civics

Amy Coney Barrett’s idea of virtue-based civics is really scary. In a discussion I started on FB, a friend asked, I wonder whose virtue?

Well....The first episode of season four of Fargo deals with the African American and immigrant side of life and the way organized crime evolved in the USA. Frederick Douglass is quoted as saying that the minute he became a free man he was a criminal just for being in his body. From that it was extrapolated that all Africans were brought here AS criminals and have been treated as such ever since.....

This is very disturbing food for thought. It has given me the idea that the WASPS wanted to wrest crime away for themselves in the name of virtue, and that is exactly what Trump and the white supremacists have done if you think about it. They are using all the branches of government to loot the treasury, destroy immigrants and Blacks, and extort corporations and other governments by way of the power that America has wielded on the world stage. As this comes to an end, they will have achieved so much destruction that it could be argued that we will never recover from it, particularly as it affects the planet's ability to support large life forms.

I truly hope the Democrats in the Senate can hold off this SCOTUS nomination until Biden can pick another one. Our lives really do literally depend on it.
