General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIt has been requested that I not watch the insanity tonight. The request camr from my cat, my
neighbors, the local wildlife, and my television. There was also some strange muttering from air traffic control, though it was rather garbled, and slightly panicked. They kindly said that I could follow here on DU, so long as I did not view any footage.
My local wine merchant, on the other hand, was hoping for a profitable night.
Sighhhhhh.

(789 posts)Our indoor cat gets her claws clipped every 2-3 weeks; it never hurts her unless she squirms and I cut too deep. It works best when we pick her up from a sound sleep, and her objections are muted.

the small amount of sanity that I have left has made the same request. I can't stand looking at or listening to the gigantic lying sack.

Interesting that he declares $70,000 for beauty supplies isnt it?
I asked my other half if we could afford a new TV.
Nope/ I think I'll go with recording it and watch it in the AM, with brandy in my coffee.

(46,023 posts)My late husband used to mute the TV whenever George W. Bush came on. Maybe if I work on my trigger finger I can make it work.

I'm going to obey the cat. It's the least I can do.

(2,947 posts)The dog doesn't care. He's used to my hysterics when tRUmp is on screen.
I checked with my sister to see if she is watching, and between us we decided our blood pressure is more important. I'll have a glass of 🍷 & watch MHZChoice.

(23,065 posts)They know I will have to scream and yell and rant and cheer and will not be quiet. So I will watch by myself in the bedroom and hubby and fur babies will watch in the front of the house. I normally never watch him (Herr Fuhrer) but do want to see Biden so guess I'm stuck in the back of the house this time. Hmm, maybe I can mute assmouth when he's talking?
If Biden does good this time, I will not watch the 2nd debate, won't need to and can go back to my usual stance of I don't watch orange face/white nose to deprive him of the attention he craves.

And nothing is going to change my vote.
There will be plenty of coverage, we will know what happened.

(43,064 posts)And is it me, or is the country in the proverbial state of suspended animation? Markets were frozen today. eBay is dead as a doornail for me, buy or sell. I visited a couple online classifieds sites, zilch. How is social media doing for you? I'm not on facebook, Twitter is active but only about the election, and mostly from well-recognized names. I think we're terrified. We can't take any more years of this boob. We'll barely squeak into January 2021.

(15,185 posts)I know how to hit the mute button as soon as the whiny monotone comes on. Besides his facial rictures are always fun. Not as good as Alex Baldwin's parodies, but still.
I also want to watch his whole body language. Leaning, lurching, lying, limping, grasping the podium. If there's an on-air aneurysm I want to be able to watch it. (Sound off, of course.)
I'm also interested in how Chris Wallace will handle a sputtering petard as he tries to dominate the microphone. Will the petard be silenced after allotted time?
However, my normal EST bedtime is before the debate, so we will see....

I hope his makeup gets all runny from flop sweat and stains his whole shirt.
I have a bag of marshmallows that we use to throw at the TV...doesn't hurt the TV, gets out our frustrations and the cat likes chasing them! We clean them up after the fact and save them for the next repeat performance of the detestable orange flatulation...
