Just voted. Illinois. Voted all Dem, and yes on progressive State Income Tax.

No line, mid afternoon, I was the only voter there, though someone did come in as I was leaving.

They gave me a choice of paper ballot or touchscreen. I went with the paper, which I put into the machine myself and waited for confirmation.

The Fair Tax was the name given to that stupid flat tax that floated around for years.
I didn't even bother looking into it because of that, until I saw an ad covering some points.
I thought is was that flat tax that was not the least bit fair.
Branding issue!
But, now that I know what it is, I'm for it.

I can only find the county office building here that's doing early voting yet.
Most of the others I checked are not for at least a week.

Had to drive about 15 miles to the County Seat of Charleston.

There is a closer location, but I saw lots of unmasked people milling around, going in and out of the building, so I went for a drive in the country. Nice day for it.

I remember now you said you down there in east central.
There's an early voting at a village only 8 miles north along the old Route 66, but they don't start doing it until October 12.
I don't see anything for the 3 towns of 5 or 8 thousand that make our mini tri-city locale.
One is across the county line, so I couldn't go there anyway, more than likely.
I applied for mail-in yesterday. Not sure what we're going to do yet.

On the 22nd of October, but we close on our house tomorrow. I'm contacting the state to see how we can register from Connecticut where we are now. I would love some insight into the ballots there. We are moving to Lake Villa. I will do some research, but any help you have would be appreciated!

Other than that, it was retention of Circuit Court judges, Yes or No.

Maybe ten items in all.

I actually really like Durbin so I'm excited for that. But I will definitely bote for the progressive tax.

I will be a yes on that one, as well as a yes on raising the state minimum wage to $12/hr, setting it at $15/hour within something like two years and ten automatically INDEXING the minimum wage past $16/hr to the average annual inflation rate, reviewed something like every two years.
