and that is how undecideds and moderates would see it.

To anyone outside of his hardcore base Trump looked desperate, was fighting with the moderator, wouldn't let Biden speak, etc.

That is not a debate but a tantrum.

Biden supporters we're impressed by him, appalled by 45.

Cult 45 members saw their leader behaving as usual, in an aggressive manor, and approved.
Non cult members who want to be loyal to their party and president were disturbed by his performance, hopefully enough to sway their vote and not just their opinion.

And undecideds saw a bully versus a gentleman.
There are folks who are undecided, I've spoken to a number of them, working to sway their votes. Many are not overly involved in politics, former military, lean right but somehow can't commit to cult 45. Party loyalty, or affiliation with military and conservative values are their main concerns, along with stuff they're hearing on right wing sites. This includes a belief that Biden is part of the system, (which has checks and balances that 45 is corrupting); he's too old and doddering (to which I reply they're both doddering old men, and I'd rather have a younger president but they are the choices, and Biden is the better man). And so on. I've expressed my opinions while listening to theirs, and shared RVAT and LP links when appropriate, and have helped swayed a few votes.

This debacle of a debate will sway a lot more votes.

For many of us I suspect its absolutely impossible to think worse of him.
