Hitler & Goebbels exploited the media of their day, radio, film, and print. Hitler was an early user of airplanes to fly around Germany to rallies and events. One little known on is the use of high quality audio tape to air his speeches simultaneously around the country. Using that he could "be in two places at once" so to speak.

Autocrats have always been pretty good at that.
