My cousin in Michigan has been a tRumper since he came on the scene (she's also lesbian and how a member of the LGBT community would support tRump is beyond me, but that's for a different discussion). Anyway, after last nights debacle she posted online that she can no longer vote for tRump and instead will vote third party. While I wish she'd come all the way to our side, that's at least one less vote for tRump in one of his must-win states.
I'm sure she's not the only one who is beginning to see what a disaster he is.

(8,275 posts)the amount the 3rd candidate received. It was the first time in recorded history that there was 3 candidates for such a local office. That was in 1999.
I now realize its not a good yardstick in which to compare the 2020 election.

I had this discussion with a boss back in 1980. He saw the rebel in me and suggested that I vote for John Anderson (to send a message). I said it was my first time voting and didn't want to waste my vote, since I waited so long for the opportunity.

Does she want those battles to be refought?
Barack and Joe help make it possible for the LGBT community to marry each other. That can all be taken away from her very soon if the republicons shove Amy down our throats and NOT letting the American VOTER decide like back in 2016.

(32,634 posts)Maybe your cousin thinks she would have to join the Democratic Party if she votes for Biden. It's not true of course, but there's no way to know what lies people are hearing.
ANYONE can vote for Biden, even registered Republicans. Each vote is private and secret, and nowhere on the ballot does it say whether the voter is a member of any political party.
I hope this helps ... and I hope you can change her mind.
