I am thankful the federal government does not have control of the elections...

...I've always been of the belief we should have a uniform federal election process. It didn't make sense that, if we were voting for president, each state had the ability to handle these elections as they see fit.

But now I am thankful for that approach. Could you imagine what this election would REALLY look like if the federal government had control of it - how we vote, where we can vote, who counts the votes - and not the states?

It's scary to think about.
