Are you saying it would be a good thing because only gay folks could have kids, thus reducing our population and harm to the planet? That's the only way I can see your post in a positive light.

Only straight people can reproduce? Tell that to my lesbian friends who just had a baby.

15. I think how well you know somebody sometimes matters in asking such questions

Especially the center and right questions here. Worded a bit differently, I think they are normal when the subject of sexual discovery is on the table among friends. Something like 'When did you come out to your parents? What was it like? What made you decide to do it? Same thing with the right question. Something like 'When did you realize you were gay and how did that feel' is not always likely to be interpreted as strange, as long as everybody is among friends. These are often major events in lives and I've found that many people are willing and sometimes eager to share.

They aren't things you should be asking somebody you don't know well, because these are private matters. But in my experience, I've found my GLBT friends and family are more than willing to engage such subjects and talk about their personal journeys. Not everybody wants to do that, of course, but I think a lot of people are, as long as you are respectful. Personally I think such things are very interesting to learn about. I've always been interested to know how people navigate processes of identity discovery and that's not just limited to GLBT identities.
