Ill post the clip when it becomes available. Hes got a stack of these cards laying out the common funding that ties anti-abortion court efforts to repealing the ACA and others.

Mersky
(4,980 posts)He laid out their three main goals: unlimited dark money, debase the civil judiciary, and then, start pulling down regulations.
That these goals can be tried, appealed, retried and appealed over and over until the Supreme Court can then weigh 5-4 in favor of the polluters and special interests.
Especially focused on Donors Trust and the Bradley Foundation as driving the funding for these goals.

(4,980 posts)Sen. Whitehouse referred to this piece:
A conservative activists behind-the-scenes campaign to remake the nations courts
Leonard Leo helped conservative nonprofits raise $250 million from mostly undisclosed donors in recent years to promote conservative judges and causes
By Robert O'Harrow Jr. and Shawn Boburg May 21, 2019
Leonard Leo stepped onto the stage in a darkened Florida ballroom, looked out at a gathering of some of the nation's most powerful conservative activists and told them they were on the cusp of fulfilling a long-sought dream.
For two decades, Leo has been on a mission to turn back the clock to a time before the U.S. Supreme Court routinely expanded the governments authority and endorsed new rights such as abortion and same-sex marriage. Now, as President Trumps unofficial judicial adviser, he told the audience at the closed-door event in February that they had to mobilize in very unprecedented ways to help finish the job.

Frankly, as I watched his presentation, the descriptions of Donors Trust and the Bradley Foundation, the Federalist Society and Judicial Crisis Network were MOST informative and eye-opening.
And I kept wondering -
DO WE have that kind of activist infrastructure in operation to influence and manipulate opinions? And if not, WHY DONT WE???
