It made my head hurt.

5. I think that people are subconsciously trying to hurry the end of the year along.

And frankly, I don't blame them. I want it over with. I want the election over, Biden and a new Senate installed and things getting fixed. It all can't come soon enough.

It's normal for stores to put their tacky ugly Christmas crap out for sale in October. It's not surprising at all that there are ads already.

On Facebook, my aunt and her nutty hen-party friends are already squawking about how they're "not allowed" to say Merry Christmas to people, and promising each other that they'll be brave and say it anyway, in spite of the persecution they are certain to suffer because of it. I hope they haven't started harassing store clerks yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are.

And they shouldn't be offended if you say, Happy Ramadan and they shouldn't technically get upset, HAH! no way.

11. I prefer not to mention holidays at all, when I'm talking to strangers.

I try to be friendly and polite regardless of the time of year, and it's none of my business which holidays someone may or may not celebrate. I avoid the subject with crazy relatives, lest they go off on an unhinged rant about how persecuted they are because they heard someone utter the word Holiday.

You've never experienced holiday cheer until you've been working a shitty retail job in December, and had some customer snarl at you in a self-righteous rage, "It's CHRIST!!!mas! Say CHRIST!!!mas! Merry CHRIST!!!mas!"

You know what's funny? I was reading some newspapers from December 1895, following a story about one of my ancestors. The word Holiday was everywhere in the headlines, the stories, and the ads - holiday sales, holiday gifts, holiday parties, holiday parades, holiday concerts, etc. etc. etc. The pseudo-persecuted would have us believe it's a very recent phenomenon, but it is not so.
