We'll see if they implement some rules changes that would effectively disqualify Trump, like tax return release requirements. That would likely scuttle any new run by Mitt, too, but we'll see what their priorities are.

It would be a stupid thing to try, but he could.

The only way to be barred would be to both be impeached/convicted and then have a second vote to bar you from any role in gov't. I't constitutional language, so I doubt you could just vote to bar someone from serving without also impeaching/convicting them.

In fact, he could be convicted of a felony tomorrow and still be potus. The only recourse to remove him would be impeachment/conviction.

And I suspect that losing is going to have some very detrimental health consequences, for him - especially since I also suspect he's heading down the Alzheimer's route.

Tom Cotton (one of the worst) is exploring a run. Rumors are that Tucker Carlson may run. I expect Don Jr and Ivanka to be entangled in legal issues but we will see.

its welcome no matter how many squirrels are hanging out in the trees.

Don Sr. had his TV show where he pretended to have skills of a sort. Jr. has absolutely nothing, and few friends.

Everyone forgets about Romney as MA governor-- pick all the nits you want, but he did a decent job. Yeah, there's Bain, but that's not the worst thing in the world and at least he didn't set out to deliberately bankrupt companies.

I can't seeing voting for him, but I could live with him as President.

Once he's out of office, even more crap will come out about just how rotten and corrupt and incompetent he was. And he won't improve his act. He'll only get worse.

Scary concept if he somehow wins, but realistically, we'd win big and pick up more seats in Congress.

He's been a disaster from the country, but he's been great for the Democratic Party brand.

If the senate convicts someone after impeachment, it can choose to bar that person from any federal office of public trust.

Other than that, or somehow losing your citizenship, the only bar is the two term / ten year limit.
