had presidents that win electoral college but lose the popular vote. At first it seemed like most would win both.

(31,261 posts)12. Outside of a margin of 4%, the person leading by 4%+ does win both.
The recent exception was President Obama in 2012. He won both, even when he was under the 4% mark leading.
