I'd think that "Professor" outranks "Doctor", and the latter title is ambiguous when referring to academics. MD, OD, DVM, JD, EdD, PhD....

It does not confuse the hoi polloi, as the more technical usage can.

The usage would seem to be either the result of the man's proud self-inflation, or of foreign misunderstanding of cultural norms, or a subtle troll indicating that really, he is not an authority at all.

Which he is not. His credentials might as well have come in a Cracker-Jack box, for all the relevance they have to his present position and activities.

On the bright side, I will never have to listen to Atlas spewing his bullshit anymore.

After watching this interview, it would be a waste of my time to watch this man speak

any time in the future.

On a side note, the interviewer was sleazy.

A liar interviewing a liar.

What a waste of my time.

Never again.
