(5,624 posts)Me burst into tears. Why must it be this way? Why must we all have to fight so hard to be heard at the ballot box?
How can we as a nation ever embrace one another and move this nation forward to fight disease and injustice. I pray the dems can be elevated to as many positions as we can and find the path we as a nation we can all walk on.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)and we've been there for a long time now. A solid majority of Americans. Our nation already has a path most do and all can walk on.
It's a mistake to judge an entire nation only by the troublemakers who will always be part of it. It is of course the majority's job to control them and we have been falling down on that.

Democracy doesn't work under minority rule.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)Republicans elected by a minority of voters but by Republicans selected by the new plutocratic classes to represent them. You, and Nancy Pelosi below, are so right what works for them doesn't work for democracy.

(8,017 posts)never again be the UNITED States. Something has to be done about the propaganda and the lies. All .....EVERY SINGLE ONE....of the legitimate news channels needs to start calling it out for what it is. Until that is done, we will never be able to bring this country back together.

(292 posts)What the hell are the police doing helping these fascist assholes. What are they a private Trump parade security force now?

(61,690 posts)Not to destroy it but put it in the bed of the pickup where it wouldn't be seen.
Was the truck within 100 feet of the polling station? If so, they broke the law.

(32,075 posts)I don't condone vandalism, but damn. They make it hard not to stoop to their level.
Good point about the law-breaking. In some states, it's 200 ft. Either way, he probably was in violation.

Seems like the cops are really begging to be defunded. I think we should accommodate them.

(15,220 posts)Please dont get me wrong. Im glad these people took a stand and stood together. I wish this had happened with the Biden Bus yesterday. Im glad there was no violence. It should not have to come to violence.
So what is it that I hate? I hate that this is happening and that it was necessary for these people to stand in the street and resist. I hate that I heard the n word on that tape more than once, and I hate that it is (yet another) instance in Texas.
We are going to be in a war zone down here. If we must, then we must. But it shouldnt have to be that way.

The Trump caravan was trying to DISCOURAGE people from voting.

(1,307 posts)This is the response we all have to those a**h*** trumpers, GET OUTTA HERE! Nobody wants them around. If the roles were reversed, those cars would have a lot of broken windows and head- and tail-lights, I guarantee it. Trumpers wouldn't just be yelling. Such as with the Biden bus. I really hate those people.

(32,582 posts)... but if I were ever to move there, Fort Worth is the place I'd want to live in.
It's actually a very livable place with a funky "small town" feel. The police don't seem too intrusive, but what do I know ... I've only visited there a few times.
This northern girl has visited the Dallas/Fort Worth area maybe 9 or 10 times, and I felt the most comfortable in Fort Worth. I hope they come out of this OK.
