Worst part of it is that we are forced to stay vigilant .. Who knows whats next!!

...November 2016.

There was a thread quite a while back asking DUers what stage of grief and grieving we were in. I replied that I was stuck in denial and disbelief - every time I’d look at Trump, my mind would say, “This can’t be. This just can’t be.”

And I speak as someone who was very nervous about 2016. While I still leaned toward thinking Clinton would win, I wasn't very confident considering the huge downside risk if she lost.

The downside risk is just as big (if not bigger) this time, but the chances of Biden winning are also a lot better than Clinton in 2016. Totally different electoral dynamics this time.

My nervous side is mostly overridden by the kind of hopeful anxiousness of a kid waiting for Christmas morning

Hard to tell how much of the knot in my stomach is nerves and how much is my son (who's due in late December) poking in inconvenient places. But every time I start feeling confident, I read another article that messes with my head and I start getting nervous about a repeat of 2016.
