I hate to say this, and please don't think I'm a whimp...but

Just before sundown on Tuesday I'm taking down all political signs from my yard. Normally I would leave them up for a few days after an election, but this time is different. The difference is we literally have a president who supports intimidation against those that don't support him. Look at what he tweeted about that caravan of yahoos in Texas harassing the Biden bus. As long as he refuses to denounce such awful behavior I don't feel safe.

It's almost certain to take awhile to count all the votes this time around, and Trump has made statements designed to get his followers impatient for results. The more impatient they get, the more trouble I fear from these idiots. I've had several Biden signs stolen from my yard already, which means that someone has been brazen enough come into my yard. It is literally the first time ever in my life that I have had someone trespass onto my property to steal a political sign.

There is a large pickup truck with Trump flags that goes up my street every now and then, and I just don't trust whomever is driving the damn thing. I have voted for, and shown my support for Biden, but when the vote count starts I just don't want to make myself a target.

What works and is safe in one place may not play out so well elsewhere. I’m a single female in a deep red area and I don’t have a Biden sign in my yard. I think Biden would be ok with both of us.

For a good 35 years now. I blame it on Rush Limbaugh and also on all those who never did anything to stop him. Claiming he had the right to incite violence against me and as free speech.

Inciting violence is not free speech!

Maybe now that the entire nation is living through what those of us in rural areas have had to live through people will begin to see the importance of restoring the “fairness doctrine” and that inciting violence is not free speech.

There is about 40% Blue here so not horrible but about a 1/2 mile from me on my neighborhood dog walk is this guy not just with a Trump sign, plenty of those, along with some Biden, but this guy has a huge huge sign mounted on wood on top of his house with 2 big american flags on either side..but what scares me is next to the sign he has a huge bullseye next to it.

In Oregon you can only have signs up 3 months before an election, I told my husband I am not walking past his house until sign comes down and even then give it some time.

Oregon is very blue but here in southern Oregon are some devout Trumpers in their trucks driving around town looking threatening.

I usually have at least one but we decided it wasn’t worth advertising our support this time around. I live in Philly and you’d be surprised just how many of these Тяцмр humping loons are here. Racism is still a very serious problem in this city and I don’t need any bricks coming through my window.

Will fish as weather allows. The boat is waiting to be launched.

It’s a very red place and there is nothing to identify us as Biden supporters. I’m not worried. Most white folks here with boats and pickups are trump supporters anyway.

Funny thing. Regardless of how fucked up Florida is, open carry is illegal here. Shockingly. And we have not seen the kinds of intimidation as in open carry states. Their guns give them artificial courage.

That said, I brought my guns with me. I can’t see a scenario where butt hurt trumpers drive to the island to fuck with tourists. But I’m ready if they do. The will all be drunk anyway.
