Polk County Poll Watchers in historic numbers - The Blue Barricade!

The magat-disturbers won't show up here because we're prepared. From the weekly Polk County Dems' update...

The Blue Barricade
It's official. As of 10:00 last night and probably for the first time ever, there's at least one Polk County Democratic poll watcher at every precinct for every hour on Election Day tomorrow. Altogether, we’ve recruited 333 volunteers to fulfill 351 shifts for four or five hours. Our volunteers will be a blue barricade protecting every voter, regardless of party, from any interference, misinformation, or intimidation. All will have a direct line to our Polk Dems leadership team if back-up, law enforcement, or a video recording is required for any reason.

We have same day voter register.
We're trained and ready to help every eligible voter cast a ballot!

I volunteered with the Miami-Dade Democratic party but, unsurprisingly I never got any calls back.

The Democratic party down here is a clique.

They lead a team that helps organize other county Democratic groups in Iowa. We want to be ready for 2022 when both Senator Grassley and Governor Reynolds are on the ballot.

The 'leaders' were tight and decisions were pre-decided by the chair of 20 years and a few longtimers. New ideas weren't really welcome because they didn't trust the new people and didn't offer a way to build that trust.

Since trump, we've had a younger and more diverse leadership that never sits on its laurels and works every aspect of the game. They brought great enthusiasm, smart ideas, and tech savvy that even the longtimers applaud.

We often need new blood to kick us in the butt and the new blood may have to push their way in and not take no for an answer.
