(2,601 posts)That made me emotional. Kind of sums up completely how this 65 year old grandmother is feeling.

(3,208 posts)this is pretty much the only Eminem song i know, but my grandsons like that i have it on my MP3 thing=y in my van! (They are also big Beatles fans!)
I seem to recall he made some videos during the bush election as well.
This is the perfect song for this election year!!!

(2,023 posts)I'm not a fan of rap music, but I love this song. It gives me chills! I just wish Eminem had offered it to the Biden campaign about a month ago. This ad might have made some of the younger Trump humpers think, "Wait a minute. Eminem hates Trump? Maybe Trump isn't so great after all!"
Thank you, Eminem!

Happy Election Day to you!

(3,527 posts)Check out some of her other tunes. Be Forever Mine is my favourite, I think; re-working of the piano vamp from I only have eyes for you that really showcases her vocal range.

(2,023 posts)Wow. Thank you for posting this!
I wish Eminem had redone this video, replacing images of Bush with Trump, and released it a couple of months ago.

(3,469 posts)He really wouldn't have had to change much. Some of it, like the line you mentioned, fits Trump better than Bush.

(8,713 posts)I love the man. My daughter was freshman in high school. She loved him and I bought her his first CD. If her mom was still alive then, she would not have allowed. Bad parenting? She graduated Tennessee with Honors, now an ICU nurse.
His lyrics are powerful. I sing and play. To remembers that many words in a song and to spit them that fast is a real talent. Many of his songs are raging against criminal power in politics and inequality. Look beyond white Rapper, and hear the message. Gotta listen fast. Blows me away at fans that know every single word and the genius phrasing to the beats. Just me, or not.

(9,760 posts)I prefer the skyscrapers from that era to the more modern ones, but I hadn't known much about Detroit's skyline. Though, I do recall a few years back seeing some amazing pix of an abandoned factory or two there. So, I should have thought to look into skyscrapers there.
I see now that the Fisher is another Detroit behemoth that looks pretty fantastic, and will check out the Buhl, Stott, etc. (Maybe I'll obsess over old skyscrapers online to keep my mind occupied while waiting for election results, for however long that takes!)
A history of the Guardian, and some more photos, for anyone interested:
