The stress eating has begun!

And for the next few days, I am actually embracing it.

BBQ ribs in the oven (after the pressure cooker) and I am wrist deep in a bag of chips.

About to open my second Mexican coke of the day.

Tomorrow will be worse.

getting people to the polls. Running renegade errands for election workers, etc. I knew at the end of the day, there would be a nice, old fashioned YANKEE pot roast when I got home.

Today I had to run out for milk. Magically, a pot roast wound up in my cart.

But I am going today or tomorrow for even more Mexican coke...and whatever else. I have a hankering for some coffee cake, so...

I'll add some extras!

(Not always, also eating's healthier stuff)
This past month mostly Chinese take but almost always have 1/2+ stuff with broccoli, onions and peppers.
Got a box of Ritz Cheese Crackers I've been working on.

Specialty Dark Chocolate with potato chip bits for tommorow! 😄
If I get to specialty store - cheese tortellini, baked ziti...
Or maybe I'll order a custom pie from our really good pizza place (just have had slices) - white pie with onions and sausage.

Italian, and Greek food are my general go to's for stuff with cheese dishes. Plus down home crusty mac 'n' cheese!
I'm half Greek-American with a pretty big family on that side. NYC has a big Italian community so I've had plenty of that, too! 😁

“Election 16”

I probably put on 16 pounds in the last 4 years from stress and not eating properly.

I enjoy food and wine too much!!

But, in the last year or so, I have noticed I can get away with eating much less. And stopped a daily glass of wine with dinner. I try to keep certain things as more for special occasions. For the next few days, it’s no holes barred, though!!

There will be a healthy meal this evening of sautéed Salmon and Butternut squash ravioli tossed with olive oil. Possibly asparagus as the vegetable. Hubby makes the meals and the decisions mostly. 🤣
Dessert will be said banana bread and the evening will end with a lovely serving of chocolate ANYTHING.

We have Pinwheels (Aldi’s version of mallomars), chocolate biscuits, cheese puffs, and possibly popcorn on tap for tomorrow. I make my popcorn on the stove in an old pot that used to be non-stick. I use olive oil for popping, and then spray olive oil and sprinkled sea salt to finish. Butter covers the flavor so no butter in sight!.

Beverages include white wine, E&J Brandy (for the price it is incredibly smooth and rich), and Andre Brut Champagne.
We are on a retired people’s budget but it’s all good!

Is Mexican Coke just Mexico’s version of Coke, or something special??
