like me. I live in Cary, NC and voted today. For those you who don't know Cary is a suburb of Raleigh and is located in the biggest county in NC. I showed up at 6:30 am to vote. The line was very small and it only took me 6 minutes to get in and vote.

Johnston County is rump territory.
It was crowded. I had to stop on the highway for all the people turning left to get into the church parking lot to vote.
Sheriff dept. was directing traffic.

It's cold and stiff winds in store. BFD. People have put everything on the line to do this. We can stand in line for a few minutes ... for them.
Update on the comeback.

(28,941 posts)Polling place - Elementary school gym. Very well organized, even with the line out the door and around the corner, in and out in half hour.
FWIW, posted notice that NH will start counting absentee ballots today
/on edit/ Did have a cop there. He had the bottomless cup of Dunkin' and looked bored.

(11,253 posts)On line at 6:30am. Completed at 7:25. Line was about 100 deep. Was slightly shorter when I got out.
Side note: I asked for an absentee ballot to avoid the lines, but it was marked military which is incorrect. I asked for this to be corrected and got no response, so I had to go in person. Early voting had long lines a mile from my apartment, so this was easier.

(578 posts)it due to the lines being too long. It was more convenient for me to vote in person.

(59,583 posts)A LOT of people here have been using absentee voting, and this is a solidly Democratic precinct, which likely accounts for the lack of lines (about 7:30 AM).
