I can't wait for him to be gone.

I was almost physically ill, in shock, traumatized, at midnight last presidential election.

(12,264 posts)I have lost my sense of security, physical and financial. A lot of this is due to the hatred of people who work in higher ed and the financial challenges facing the place where both of us work. Plus the lack of federal funding for scientific research has cost my husband in terms of his lab and keeping it going.
We have a roof over our heads, food in the fridge and transportation which is more than most people have.
I had a savings account 4 years ago.
I was going to college and had a job 4 years ago.
Today the savings account has been wiped out to the last dime and going back to college is a non-starter.

(5,119 posts)Now I have no job and no unemployment. No health insurance either.
I'm four years closer to Medicare, than I was four years ago. I'm 64. I could also take early Social Security, although the longer I can wait, the more it will be.
My house and car are paid off, which is the only reason I can wait on the SS.
