The barrier around the White House is actually making me cry

I've spent most of my adult life in DC. I don't know if I can describe accurately how much this breaks my heart.

As a Washingtonian, this is absolutely a punch to the gut. This is the American people's house, in the American people's city. America, please end this. Tonight.

THIS IS NOT WHAT THIS HOUSE OR THIS CITY STAND FOR.

I was living in the DC area, working at National Airport. On August 8, when Nixon came on TV to resign, the airport shut down completely. Planes did not pull away from the gate while passengers and crew watched. There was literally no one at all in that huge, wonderful main terminal. We were all in our back room, as were the agents of every single airline, watching. It was bizarre and amazing.

That night, when he got to the line, "I am not a quitter." I was terrified the next sentence would be something like, "And therefore I am going to fight this to my last bit of will." When I see a rerun of it, I'm terrified that all of a sudden it will change, and he won't quit, and I'll suddenly be in that alternative reality.

I will try to remember to post it then.

he's afraid of us or he thinks it's going to be a tie and there will be conflict as a result. It has me wondering if he and all those merchants who are boarding up their windows all over the country know something is coming. Walls everywhere.

But I can't wait till these walls are not enough to stop someone from dragging that orange bastard out of there and putting him in jail, where he will have plenty of walls to hold him in.

Easier answer. Learn to love yourself and others. But that seems a far reach for this guy.

So, walls, walls, walls.

But I agree the image is very sad because it represents what this Administration is and would like to be. I don't recall ever seeing this before or seeing boarded up businesses in every major city prior to a presidential election.

This is Trump's America. And this is why we're voting in huge numbers.

Never forget, never forgive.

The People's House should never be barricaded because of a f*cking election. Trump can seal himself in but he can't keep our votes or voices out.

It appears to be a board (maybe a 4X4?), and attached to it, on the right appears to a ??large electrical cable plugged in the board.

Does anyone else see this?

This city was made a corporation in 1871. This wall is the kind of approach that corporate government takes when it's ready for a war against the nation's humans and their Constitution.

Republics are defined as not having monarchs or presidents, either. Trump is ready for all that. Because he knows that the only president allowed in a real Republic is in a corporation.

The Seal of the District of Columbia features the date 1871, recognizing the year the District's government was incorporated. This is the original. Others have since been redesigned.

When it was first adopted in 1871, the original seal featured Lady Justice placing a wreath not on a statue of George Washington, but on the Statue of Freedom, which currently sits atop the Capitol Building.

What we think this house and city stand for will be up for debate if/when statehood is seriously taken up by Congress. And the facts of U.S. incorporation might come out in discussions about D.C.

The [District of Columbia Organic] Act of 1871 did not establish a new city or city government within the District. Regarding a city , it stated that "the District of Columbia be, and is hereby, declared to be the successor of said corporations (Washington and Georgetown)". In the present day, the name "Washington" is commonly used to refer to the entire District, but there is no longer an official entity in the District by that name.[9]
