We shouldn't be on pins and needles.

We are so fucked up as a country and a human race if we are worried about it being this close.

Doesn't matter if it's popular vote or Electoral College.

Anti-democratic pro-authoritarianism cult of flawed personality voters having this much impact in an American election is depressing the hell out of me. And I am the one who bolstered the moods of countless people earlier today to drive optimism. I'm exhausted.

And they are the ones who are loudest about their own supposed moral superiority.

It is sick.

This is just the latest continuation of that premise.

The south? Still solid...
Hispanics - especially Cubans? Still fool's gold traitors at worst, definitively NOT allies.
The "United" States? A historical fiction...and becoming less realistic as Trump shreds the assumed institutions and the racists and idiots are given free reign to run rough shod over everything seeking vengeance in all the wrong places.

This is essentially the end of the experiment in secular, representative republican governance, we either secede and split into 2 nations with insane borders and even more insane enmity, or brace for a decades long "troubles" style warfare, or have an all out fight and second Civil War.

I am expecting a repeat of the Irish Troubles kicking off soon. Indiscriminate killings and bombings. Kidnappings and more killings. Hate breeding revenge breeding hate and looping forever. And I don't expect to live to see the end of them...in reality a reckoning is overdue and this nation either attempts to live up to its highest aspirations or it falls victims to the passions of the mob and melts into semi-permanent chaos.

Hope and Change won in 2008, hung on 2012 and was beaten in 2016 and is dying before our eyes in 2020. After this, the union is finished and with it the concept of so vast a nation holding together under such internal fault lines and division.

Game over man. Game over.

for 4 years. He gave them permission to show their ignorance and hate. He encouraged it.

I want them back under their rocks. Now I know they're there/here.
