Stop letting them control the narrative.
They threw everything at us and we won.

(26,721 posts)Getting rid of Trump now looks likely and that's a bare minimum to avoid a disaster... but the rest of the election went shockingly poorly.
And with the largest turnout in over a century... which is supposed to favor a blue wave.
Barely dodging a red wave is not "we won".

(26,721 posts)I'd estimate that >90% of them would be better. The fact that I can imagine worse might provide some comfort (obviously feeling worlds better than I did last night around 10-ish)... but let's not fool ourselves.
Still some hope out there if a couple of senate races break our way, but the narrative is "we survived" when they wanted to kill us.
On edit - Cr@p... Gideon just conceded. We'll have to get very lucky in GA runoff(s)

(26,721 posts)Not out of the woods yet, but it's looking good.
But "it could have been worse" isn't much of a substitute for our anticipated schadenfreude... kwim?

(1,663 posts)The narrative should be about how poorly the incumbent is performing. Like you said, they threw everything at us and we won!

(26,721 posts)He serves at the pleasure of the Board of Governors, not the President. Though I would love to see Biden use a unitary executive argument to change that.
The Board is appointed by the President to fixed terms... and only a couple of them have terms ending in the next couple of years. All seven of them are Trump appointees... so it could be 2023 until we have a majority.
Unless he can be prosecuted for something of course.
