There is a large chunk of voters who will show up for Trump and don't gibe a shit about other elections, and that's why we were so much more successful in 2018. What they do in 2022 and 2024, I have no idea.

It will take time to sift through all the data, but the biggest takeaway seems clear: a massive wave of new voters came out to support Trump and down-ballot Republicans on Tuesday. Yes, Joe Biden and Democrats improved their vote totals in some areas hes currently winning 754,000 votes statewide to Hillary Clintons 653,000 in 2016. But Trump right now has 890,000 votes, compared to his 800,000 four years. Hes winning by about eight points at the moment.
Trump appears to have turned out an even larger contingent of angry, frustrated new voters that are mad at the world and want to burn things down. Whether it was due to blowback to COVID restrictions, outright racism in response to racial justice calls, or just anger at the so-called elites that Republicans attacked in campaign ads, Trump once again activated a new electorate that didnt use to engage in politics.

(13,033 posts)the streets will be violent, your beautiful suburbs will be overrun by dark skin people, and what other nonsense he's been screaming into their heads the past 4 years. They are brainwashed and have been spellbinded by the cult of trump. This twisted idea of Libs are what they're afraid of most.
In a midterm election of course turnout w/ not be as high. In a general election you will have a higher turnout.

I had a manager who was a Republican, but he would not vote for Bush Sr. only because he turned "wimpy" and talked about a "thousand points of light" and such.
