Another way to win the Senate

Biden says he wants to include Repugs in his Admin. I say he publicly offer positions to GOP Senators from "Blue States". Two outcomes: 1) the Senator accepts and the Dem Governor appoints a Dem Senator 2) Senator rejects the offer and Biden has ammunition (I tried to reach across party lines, but so and so refused.) Win win for us.

while there's a Dem governor in KY. Like Feinstein, he'd rather just keel over.

Especially for a Rep from a cold-weather state, sick of working in a contentious Senate, that might sound pretty good.

Politicians do that sometimes, although it's been quite a while. Joe's among the best at working with the other side; see if he can use his powers of persuasion to get a couple of GOPers to switch parties. Some of them are sick of the Trump influence in their party. Maybe with some small favors and accommodations we can get a couple to become Democrats. It's worth a shot.

Re: Susan Collins.

I looked it up, and she's in a state with a Dem governor. Furthermore, it appears to be the kind where the governor is NOT required to pick a replaced from the same party as the departing person!

As a relative moderate, it's more likely Biden would offer her something, and more likely she'd take it. Though I would still guess long odds.

But unless Warnock wins the Georgia runoff, that would still leave Dems down one in the Senate.
