Meanwhile: The US just reported 102,831 new Covid-19 infections in 1 day. That's an all-time high

(CNN) - What may have seemed like a ridiculously high prediction weeks ago has turned into reality -- and much faster than health experts expected.

"I was predicting just a week or two ago we'd hit 100,000 (new cases a day). I didn't imagine it would be already there," said William Haseltine, a former Harvard Medical School professor and chair of ACCESS Health International, a global health think tank.

The United States reported its highest number of new coronavirus infections in a single day -- 102,831 on Wednesday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

And it's not just due to more testing. New cases have increased 21% over the past week, according to Johns Hopkins. But testing has only increased 4.52% over the past week, according to the Covid Tracking Project.

I just left a Dollar General store where the grossly obese clerk was not wearing a mask. It may not be long before her family is slow marching soft singing.

...that's the kind of neighbors I have.... Would like to round them up and dump them onto the multiple floors of Covid patients in local hospitals.

solve the very steep economic problems that Bush was about to hand him.

I have a sense of deja-vu now with SARS-COV-2. The disease is barreling down the tracks and many people are resistant to taking simple actions that will dramatically slow it down. Unlike President Obama, who was lucky enough to have Bush disappear to his ranch in Texas, President Biden will have to deal with a loudmouth disrupters, who has people who would harm others at his call, and who is going to push people to ignore the well thought out policy coming from the Biden Administration.
