Baby boomers are now in their early seventies. Average age of death for all persons is 78 for men, 80 for women. Baby Boomers also have a significant overwhelming Republican bias. In 2022, about half of boomers remaining will have died. By 2030, about 80% of them alive now are gone. GenXers have the reverse profile, and they are considerably more likely to be Democrat.

than are liberal. That doesn't mean that they are all Trumpists; I suspect that the 37% of the population the truly support him, not just the GOP, is concentrated in the above 50 population.

Additionally, yes, many Boomers will live to be in their 90s or older, but the average lifespan for someone born in 1944, the oldest boomers is around 78. That's demographics.

My suspicion is that we are really seeing the lost hurrah of the Reagan Revolution. It has dwindled to an angry, inchoate mess led by an angry, inchoate man, but it's getting old and arguably senile. And for the record, I'm almost 60, so this is an old GenXer making this observation, not a GenZ kid.
