Anyone think it's possible that Ben Sasse switches parties in January?

United States Senator Ben Sasse, Republican of Nebraska: "The task for this year is to finish the job by the book: Ignore overheated rhetoric, let state and local officials complete the count, and trust in the rule of law."

Even if he voted with Republicans 100% of the time, that move would doom him in cornhusker-red Nebraska.

He might get louder in his anti-Trumpism. But I wouldn't count on it. He'll try to pretend like Trump doesn't exist, which is easier to do when he's not POTUS.

Opportunism alone will keep him in the party.

Any R that switches parties should be required to vote the way Schumer or Pelosi (whichever house they're in) tells them to for 1 year.
