Former Sen. Rick Santorum, a Republican from Pennsylvania, slammed President Trumps claims of election fraud, saying that his were not factual and was at times incendiary.
No Republican elected official will stand behind that statement, Santorum said at CNNs special election coverage.
The former senator went on to criticize the President over his claim of voter fraud without evidence.
"We dont know that right now, and for the President to go out there and claim that without any evidence of that is dangerous," Santorum said.
Santorum went on to call out Trump over his attacks on mail-in voting.
"I sat there I listened to him talking about the votes being taken away from him, and then he shifted to Arizona and said hey, 'I win this thing if they count the votes.' Well, how can you say we have to wait and count the votes in Arizona and I can win this thing, but if you count the votes in Philadelphia youre stealing them? The reality is, in Pennsylvania Democrats voted by mail and Republicans voted in person and its because you asked them to do so.

I know Santorum is no longer in office, but the more of them that say it, the easier for others to jump on board.

(2,022 posts)Didn't think it would be Santorum, that is for sure! And for him to point out Trump's hypocrisy in wanting to continue counting votes in Arizona, but wanting to stop the count in Philadelphia?! Didn't he read in The Republican's Guide to Undermining Democracy playbook that Republicans are only supposed to point out hypocrisy on the part of Democrats and NEVER on the part of Republicans?

(6,507 posts)exactly what they tried to do with Gore. Tried to have it both ways. And, they succeeded in Florida against Gore. Maybe not from that, but they are trying to get the vote counting stopped or the vote declared fraudulent.
It ain't over yet. Still need your supplies and a bunch of popcorn. I'm not going to relax until Joe's standing at the podium in victory.
