The United States in 2020 is *not* Germany in 1933...

...but the differences are not nearly as great as I would have imagined only five years ago. Trump has exposed how prevalent fascist tendencies are, in the "conservative" movement and the GOP generally. Nearly half the country has openly embraced an open authoritarian. The GOP was not "hijacked" by him--he was, is, the ultimate embodiment of what the GOP has become. We have--apparently, thank God--avoided the immediate danger that a Trump re-election would have brought us to. But the nation will remain in crisis, as long as the Republican party retains its one-party state mentality...

Although the Nazis received less votes in the November 1932 election, they still had about 4M more votes than the Social Democrats. They were clearly nowhere near going out of business.

The Nazis won the most seats in the Reichstag. They just never got a majority. If the Social Democrats and the Communists had allied against the Nazis they may have stopped Hitler.

It's over when states certify their results. Trump doesn't have to concede, the votes and the EC will do it for him.

I’m sorry for being a Nervous Nelly. But this ain’t my first rodeo.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m loving the confidence everyone is showing. But it’s not over yet.

Seeing it in a very different light from 2014. The unique lives of both Roosevelt's made them outsiders to a corrupt political system. I can understand why some bought what "It" was selling. Seeing the craziness of pur peripheral society of celebrities acting really badly and making a living off of six tapes.

We may want to dig up candidates from outside the arena, like Yang. Or maybe just be more open to recruiting uniquely suited candidates to our diverse country's needs.
