Donald Trump delivered the most dishonest speech of his presidency on Thursday evening.

I've watched or read the transcript of every Trump speech since late 2016. I've cataloged thousands and thousands of his false claims.

I have never seen him lie more thoroughly and more egregiously than he did on Thursday evening at the White House.

On the verge of what appeared to be a likely defeat by former Vice President Joe Biden, Trump emerged in the press briefing room and took a blowtorch to the presidential tradition of defending the legitimacy of the democratic process.

1. Oh, he wasn't telling lies!

He was just telling his vision of Reality.

He is the Chosen One, so he expected to win.

Everything he said was just to explain to the common people why he wasn't.

If you believe in your view of reality really hard, and squint your eyes just right, then Reality will morph into the shape you want.

Trump will go to his grave believing he was robbed of a legitimate win. So will most of his cult followers.

The rest of us should just shrug our shoulders and carry on trying to cope with reality as it is, without being delusional.
