Why so gloomy, Democrats? You have a lot to celebrate

In fact, there is a lot for Democrats (and the nation) to celebrate, assuming a Biden win.
The guard rails of our democracy held up for four years against a president who tried to drive a Mack truck through them. Thank you, Framers.
The strength and character of the nation was on majestic display in the long voting lines and in the vote counting centers. Voters voted and volunteer poll workers meticulously counted a record number of votes without major glitches and despite a deadly pandemic and concerns over violence. There hasnt been anything like this since the 1944 election, when millions of men and women in uniform, many of them overseas and on the front lines, voted in the middle of a world war.
Explain to your children, if you havent already, what happened in the Great Pandemic Election of 2020. Celebrate Joe Biden. He ran a nearly flawless campaign against a wily, no-holds-barred, never-hit-above-the-belt opponent. Biden seems close to resurrecting the blue wall of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, plus winning, of all places, Georgia and Arizona. So, Democrats, please stop complaining about losing Texas and Florida. Biden is a politician, not a miracle worker.
Finally, celebrate the end of Donald Trumps incompetent, divisive and morally bankrupt presidency.

Secondly, you do not know shit about me. Kindly don't dictate what you think I need to learn and tell me how I am suppose to think.

Local Nevada reporters are pleading with the national networks to call Nevada for Biden and end this bizarre and unnecessary national nightmare.

(12,344 posts)Looks bad for him. but the count isn't over. It might not go the way we think, and he will exploit any little mistake or loophole. This is what he does. And he is very good at it.

(13,034 posts)we were hoping to take control of the Senate and odds are now that it won't happen. That's what I'm depressed about. With no control of the Senate it will be hard for President Biden to advance his legislative agenda. I'm also concerned about our lackluster performance in the House where we lost seats although we kept the majority over all. And I wanted a landslide Biden victory to totally repudiate Trump and that didn't happen either.

(37,748 posts)I'll let the FUDders have their few days of froth in this glorious sun of York co., PA as I realize a cold winter of discontent is coming their way. Ain't too difficult to see the obvious; we shall know them by their fruit of the looms.
I'm the guy who tells his co-workers "better to do it right than do it fast..." Works out better for everyone as such-- except for the fast-food voter who gets frustrated by waiting an additional five minutes to supersize his fries; and that's an impatient demographic to whom I give little concern.
