You read that right 3. The other 7997 werent returned at all. The deadline was 5 PM.
That is off the board now.

(44,983 posts)That seems a bit uncharacteristic of those in our military. Unless it's some odd form of protest against the CINC

(5,936 posts)The ORIGINAL amount sent out was 12k. Your number are the ones of that total that were outstanding. Im not sure whats so complicated about that.

The 8k was remaining ballots that could be turned today. Others have been returned and counted already. Georgia has over 32k people in the military.

(58,785 posts)The 8000+ are ballots that were requested but not returned as of the deadline this evening. Many probably werent mailed back at all.

(6,477 posts)8000 was the group that was sent but not returned. Because it's military, they were sent out automatically, rather than requested. So, many thousands of them probably went into the trash wherever outside of GA they arrived.

(3,282 posts)Military voters are younger, so less likely to vote anyway. Also, many in the military don't vote in an effort to remain neutral as the Military prefers.

(8 posts)We don't know how many were returned in all the other counties. However, since Gwinnett is the 2nd largest county in the state, the overall total is likely to be very small.

(58,785 posts)We just don't know how many of the 8,000 that were still outstanding were returned statewide. It was almost certainly more than 3 but likely a pretty minimal number overall.

(10,500 posts)Or I guess I should say welcome back. I see from your profile that you first registered in February 2005. But you have posted 6 times, and all 6 were in the last 90 days.
I am glad that you decided to return after over 15 years, and that this time you are actually posting with us. And I am impressed that you still remembered your user name and password.
I hope you stick around this time and keep posting with us.
