Republicans still ran the election, but seem as eager to steal this election. What happened?

(12,344 posts)Only so much you can do to suppress the vote. She spent the last two years registering people and energizing turnout. Got enough to overcome however many they deregistered or discouraged.

(9,651 posts)Now a paper ballot is printed after the voter makes choices on the machines screen
Now wether Georgia law allows that paper to be counted,I dont know
I guess we will find out during the recount

(53,764 posts)a paper receipt. What are they supposed to do with that? Call back later if their choice doesn't win to see if their vote was actually counted?
Of course not. If that was the case, why have electronic voting machines that spit out receipts at all? Just go with paper ballots without out the middle-man-electronic-machinelike we used to when they couldn't switch votes with republican prioritized software that only the repug election officials have access to?

(9,651 posts)One advantage of this machine would be a voter could vote at any location instead of having to have several ballot types at each location but
I am uncomfortable about the bar code created and scanned, I would rather the paper ballot was hand counted,at least the top two races
Colorado has hand counted paper ballots and they were done super fast

(1,351 posts)Everyone keeps asking how so many could still vote for Trump after what a failure he has been. I dont think they did. The states that were far off the polls had electronic voting machines.
Doesnt anyone else find it odd that the mail-in votes are SO skewed towards Biden versus electronic vote? With those loooong lines to vote in person, those were all overwhelmingly GOP?
I dont believe it. I believe the electronic votes ratio of Biden over Trump was much closer to the mail-in ratio. I think votes were flipped. Until we can have a forensic analysis of those states with electronic voting well never find out if they are truly secure.

(57,073 posts)How easy and untracable it is to change vote totals.
You are absolutely correct.
Ironically, it appears that the tRump virus us a blessing in disguise, as it has caused so many non-electronic votes that will save our country.
No disrespect to those who have suffered, died, are living with "long-haul," post-covid syndromes, or those whose loved one(s) have been murdered by the so-called "pResident."
Voting machines need to go.

(1,351 posts)We arent hearing anyone publicly talk about the voting machine integrity which is depressing. It Im telling myself that maybe there is something going on in the background by our intelligence agencies but we just dont know about it. Joe needs to make this an issue like Dems tried earlier but McConnell wouldnt approve the funds.

They also had the paperless DREs in 2018. However, the new BMDs are just as bad.

(5,555 posts)GA actually fits with the overall trend of this election, and even closely mimics Milwaukee.
Most major cities saw a slight Trump gain. One of the most notable example is Los Angeles, where Trump went form 22.4% in 2016, to 26.8% in 2020. LA is 47.5% hispanic, 9.8% black
A notable exception is Milwaukee, which as we know is ground zero for the outrage over George Floyd. It also has a far larger black population (37.6%) than hispanic (8.6)
Atlanta follows the same model. 54% black, 10% hispanic. Ground zero for outrage over Rayshard Brooks. Trump lost ground in Fulton, Cobb, and DeKalb counties.
So we have a nationwide trend of higher hispanic vote for republicans being overruled by a different trend of strength with black voters, due to local demographics giving greater weight to the latter in these locations.
