His final humiliation. Even amid a pandemic, Biden's inauguration will be much larger than Trump's. (Original Post) CatWoman Nov 2020 OP

We’ll likely be at the worst of the winter wave by then. Maybe over 200k cases a day. More likely a dramatically scaled down event.

in their cars like our convention, only tens of thousands honking happily. What a mess. Doable? Avoidable?
Where might they channel vehicles? Virginia? Maybe Walmart would like to offer its parking lots; there're probably enough in the general area to hold a million vehicles.

The swearing in will be at the usual place, and no doubt pedestrians will be on the mall to whatever numbers allowed. Trump will still be president until noon, but unlikely the Park Service and Mayor of DC will be swayed by him.

It'd be a 9 hour drive for us, and one I'm in the mood to make.

There's no way around it. The pandemic will be out of control in January.

...will be standing outside the White House doors with what Arlo Guthrie called “implements of mass destruction” (shovels, rakes, baseball bats with nails sticking out of them, golf clubs, chain saws, motorcycle chains...) ready to go in and remove that fat fuck from Joe’s house if he won’t leave on his own.

The smart consumer will watch our president deliver his inaugural on television, where it’s warm and there’s no virus, and we can raise our glasses, cigars and reefers to the Savior of Democracy.

have to do it inside of white house. Look at how the Lakers and Dodgers can't get a championship parade due to Covid. Why would Biden put people at risk when even professional sports teams are not willing to do so?

Plans should be made to deal with them when they start disrupting the inaugural. Using Super-Glue on their lips would be a simple solution.

they need to come up with a plan. A traditional inauguration crowd would be more than dangerous; it would be disastrous

A very small gathering due to the pandemic which, if it goes as predicted, will be in the midst of a large surge.

Biden follows science and experts contrary to Trump. I'd be surprised if there was the normal 'super spreader' type of gathering.
