Sophia Ankel

... The law prohibits armed federal agents from standing outside the polls on Election Day, but apparently Bill Barr, consummate Trump lackey, believes that means they’re perfectly acceptable any time after Election Day ...

Trump, of course, has spent months baselessly claiming evidence of fraud, as has Barr, who said in September that one man filled out 1,700 ballots himself, which naturally wasn’t true at all ...

He was convicted of ethics violations and fined $300,00 by a 395-28 Congressional vote.
The first Speaker of the House convicted by the House for ethics violations.

He was forced to resign, or face impeachment by the House.

Gingrich is a traitor. Here's proof:
On December 7, 2016, the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Gingrich was condemned by many after he tweeted that "75 years ago the Japanese displayed professional brilliance and technological power launching surprises from Hawaii to the Philippines"

He was denounced for this statement, yet some people still quote him, giving him credibility.
Avoid the Newt. Denounce the Newt. Do a Joe McCarthy on Newt as un-american.

LATER EDIT: I have one name, who did similar, if not identical, actions. This one talked to the press. Tokyo Rose... which a GOP President pardoned.

The Supreme Court ruled in Cramer v. United States in 1945:

A citizen intellectually or emotionally may favor the enemy and harbor sympathies or convictions disloyal to this country’s policy or interest, but, so long as he commits no act of aid and comfort to the enemy, there is no treason.

Gingrich didn't even do that, he merely expressed admiration for the decisions of the Japanese military.

Everything in that statement is absolutely true, the Japanese did display professional brilliance and technological power in their attack on Pearl Harbor, what their mistake was that they didn't score a knockout blow on the Aircraft Carriers, which was their main targets.

I have no idea where you get the notion that his statement is treasonous.

Go take the entire quote and google it.
If you can find that it was edited, please let me know and I will certainly let the legal publisher ( a newspaper) know.

On your thought processes of what defines treason, I guess you missed the really important part of 'giving aid to the enemy'.
Propaganda, in any war, is a major tool used to influence the enemy. Gingrich is lucky?, it wasn't Dec 7, 1941 when he opened his mouth.

Another mishap they had was their declaration of war on the US was never delivered. But that was more a psychological blunder than maybe a strategic military one. The attack on Pearl combined with the failed declaration is what lead Admiral Yamamoto to make his famous "sleeping giant" comment (combined with his knowledge of America's industrial might).

I am NOT excusing the myriad of atrocities against humanity Imperial Japan wrought and it's unfortunate Japanese leaders did not hang in the same manner as the German leaders, their conduct was every bit as heinous as that of the Nazis.

seventy-five years after they cease to be an enemy. They’re one of our closest allies, with mutual defense treaties and a long-standing strategic partnership.

Yours may be the stupidest argument I’ve ever seen made on DU, and we once had a knock-down-drag-out fight about NASA blowing up the moon and the impact that would have on menstruation.
