That's more votes for Trump out of Wayne County then he got out of all 15 counties in Upper Michigan and much of Northern Michigan.
If one looks at the votes Trump got in the urban counties of Genesse (Flint), Kent (Grand Rapids), Washtenaw (Ann Arbor), and Ingham (Lansing), it's clear that Trump got a great majority of his support in the state from urbanites.

(15,532 posts)I take that to mean the tri-county area, not the Detroit area. It's misleading to people who don't live here. Macomb County is considered in the Metro Detroit area and it's a quite different populace than Detroit proper.

Detroit City's population peaked at 1,849,568 in 1950 and has declined in every decade since. A friend was a census taker in 2010 and filled out a lot of forms for "no longer a dwelling unit at this address".
