Them losing the election just isnt enough for me.
After these assholes have robbed four years of all our lives with their corruption, incompetence, and depravity, I feel vengeful as hell.
I want their reputations and businesses to be destroyed. I want investigations into their years of criminality.
That orange fuck should not just be allowed to retire into the sunset with the usual perks afforded to an ex-president. He and his horrid family need to be vanquished from public life.

(4,533 posts)Most of his supporters are delusional, believing crazy things. You and I know the Trumps deserve ruination but if we completely destroy them about 100 million people will view that as horribly undeserved. Many of them will go berserk and resort to violence. A person visiting Los Angeles sat in the first row watching a musical performer in a chair. The performer crossed his legs and the visitor shot him dead. He was confused when arrested, explaining that the performer had pointed the bottom of his shoe at him. In his country that was an outrageous insult, exposing the bottom of your shoe to someone was the vilest insult imaginable. A lot of Trump supporters are basically as weird in their view of the world as that person. We dont want to drive them to insane behavior.
Hornets will not react well to a stick in their nest even tho the bastards richly deserve it. I want to just ignore the Trumps except for seeking monetary damages for tax fraud and other frauds. We can ruin them financially for frauds, I think that will be enough.

(4,533 posts)Lady Justice sits atop the courthouse blindfolded, holding a scale. You rightly argue for the blindfold, all should be treated equally. But justice also requires balancing the pros against the cons of a judgment. A judgment which causes more harm than good should be avoided. If prosecuting Trump would cause someone to detonate nuclear bombs should we do that? No. Sammy the Bull Gravano murdered people. But he was given a break in return for his testimony which brought down his entire crime family including his boss John Gotti. The greater good from not being fair to the victims of Sammy justified giving him a break.

(10,252 posts)I actually don't hate them. I don't hate anyone, because anger and hatred are poison. What I want is justice, which is a virtue.
I guarantee you that there will be a presidential criminal investigation into their crimes. Some of which we don't even know about yet. And then the chips will fall as they must. Trump's evil degenerate karma is ripening even as I write this.
Karma is a law, as sure as gravity. And like gravity, it never stops working. If you don't keep your feet under you, you will fall. Trump is beginning his great fall now. I don't have to contaminate my honor and peace of mind with wishing him ill. I just have to be patient and let his evil karma bear the consequences of his anger, sadism, and corruption.
He probably will lose his property. I expect that he will be convicted on RICO charges of running a criminal enterprise for 30, 40 years. In which case, the gov would confiscate what's left of his property, because one is not allowed to profit from a criminal enterprise. What's left at that point will be whatever the banks and lenders have foreclosed for non-payment of his debts. So I don't have to wish his destruction. I just have to use reason and logic to see what awaits him as the consequences of all his evil deeds.
I look forward to the day, when I can see a picture of him after he gets his 1st 2-minute prison haircut with electric clippers.
Buzz buzz buzz. No more comb-over pompedour. Just his very bald pate for the whole world to see. Then he can go back to his gray solitary cell and stare at the walls for 23 hr a day. I would send him a book, but alas! I don't think he reads.

(11,563 posts)Fancies himself a "businessman" when the closest he's ever come to an actual business was a thinly-veiled "biz-op" scam. It feel quite short of fraud, because there was an actual product, so all lawsuits were of a civil (not criminal, as opposed to polite) nature and even if he ever lost one (he was great at grinding people down until they lacked any wherewithal to continue the fight.
He was actually contemptuous of these people, because they clearly didn't have the drive and focus to make their "businesses" succeed. People, and often situations, were either The Best Thing Ever or the farthest thing from it. Rarely anything in between.
One differing aspect is that he found Christianity, but it is of the John Hagee - Creflo Dollar variety. Like most of these people, he cherry-picked Biblical passages that bolstered his perception. His overwhelming favourite was "The gold of the wicked is laid up for the righteous."
Now, here is the little anecdote that connected my mind from this thread to this miscreant. Oh, I should have mentioned that he is very smart, especially in technical ways and it's his Borderline Personality Disorder that's the big problem. He has a younger brother that is almost the exact opposite, except that he is brilliant. Quite literally the finest technical mind I've ever encountered. Taught himself UNIX system administration from a book in incredibly short time, for example.
He and I got along very well, and one of the best compliments I ever received was him saying that he wishes we could think of a business we could partner up in. One day, I told him that I thought it was entirely possible that no one that had ever had anything to do with his brother ever came out the better for having known him.
He thought for a moment and said "I think you're right."
It took me a long time to get there, but I trust you now see the connection. I find it to bee a very damning indictment of someone's life. Two lives, with one writ incredibly large.

Likewise, I hope for full proof of the obstruction of justice and the corrupt collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia as well as other authoritarian leaders in countries like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE, and China.
Truth and justice but then depolarization between us on the left with many ordinary Americans who got caught up by Trump's charismatic demagoguery, some of whom are in our families perhaps. Even the obnoxious ones in my town who paraded up and down in their pickups with their flags and Trump signs.
And, dare I say it, for members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to slowly step away from hyper partisanship and figure out places where they have common ground.

If you do not want this kind of behavior in the highest offices in the land, you have to be willing to punish those who commit it - as a deterrent,
Trump would have locked Hillary up if he'd been able to. Ditto for Obama.
But he couldn't because they did not commit any crimes.
If Trump committed bank fraud, insurance fraud, tax evasion, etc, he should be help to account. He should not get a free pass after getting the Russian to help him steal the White House and obstructing Mueller so we couldn't find out.
Biden's answer to this is simple: "It is up to the Attorney General of the United States to uphold the laws of the land. Donald Trump has nothing to worry about if he's done nothing wrong."

He'll always say that the only reason he didn't get a second term was because of voter fraud or whatever, but in his mind that will still be a loss. Cheating is part of his life and any endeavor he's part of. He may have been cheated in his mind, but also he wasn't smart enough to out-hustle the hustlers who hustled him, and that's a loss in his book.
