I never watched Joe Scarborough before today and my first impression is not good.

I usually turn on my TV later in the day and watch MSNBC, but of course this week is different. Mika Brzezinski seems pretty cool but Joe Scarborough? Not so much.

Joe has some moments when he is very thoughtful and insightful, but his tendency to cut people off and filibuster for long periods of time is rather exhausting. He goes into some long monologues where he repeats himself a lot and obviously loves the sound of his own voice. Fortunately, I can fast-forward when he starts going on and on. I usually like the rest of the regulars on the show.

Mika's father once called Scarborough "stunningly superficial" and that pretty much says it all.

They both make me sick. Behind any principles you perceive is cunning calculations of viewership and popularity.

But these are special circumstances with the election results. Also, they've all been putting in unusual hours this week.

Thru and thru republican, but that doesn't make his observations any less true. If you want to understand the other side of argument, you have to listen to people like this or we become as blind to the debate as they are.

so I find myself watching it. Often the show has worthwhile guests but Scarborough is not my cup of tea (guess I should say my cup of joe).

That show and its hosts are still psychically, in the abstract, trying to make up for its robust promotion of trump four years ago as he would frequently call into the show and both Scarborough and Mika would enthusiastically welcome him to chat and campaign. It was millions of dollars worth of free publicity for trump and helped his campaign tremendously.

Once trump showed the nation what an inept idiot he is and a disaster as a president, they've become as enthusiastically opposed to him as they were once enthusiastically welcoming to him.

And so is Mika. If Joe and Chuck Todd had a contest to see who is the most obtuse it would be close.
