On MSNBC, he said Biden will have won the popular vote by larger margins than most other recent Presidents: more than Truman, more than Kennedy, more than Carter, Clinton, GHWBush, GWBush, Obama 2012, and Trump IIRC.
Good to know!
Then Joe S., still a Republican, misinterpreted the Congressional results as saying that people want more Republican control of the legislative branch. But he was comparing them to the high expectations people had, not looking at the numbers. Dems picked up at least one net Senate seat and could pick up at least one more in Georgia in January. They lost only a few House seats, mostly in red Districts in which a Dem had won for the first time in 2018, and two in FL to Cuban-American Republicans. That is hardly reflective of a national sentiment favoring Republicans.

(1,665 posts)EVERY house seat was up for election, and democrats won more of them. Period. The only meaning you should draw from that is that the people want a democratic legislatureand thats even with gerrymandering and the ridiculous state of affairs where each CA rep represents 20x the number of people as the WY rep.
