Is this the most happy day in DU history ,or was it Obama's win in 2008?

I also remember some other classic and happy DU times like in 2006 when we flipped the House and 2012 when Obama beat Romney. Having been a DU member for 17 years, I think today may be the best. It's best because of what we as a country were about to face for the next 4 years. Our democracy would not have survived that.

Because the past 4 years have been much worse (for me) than Bush Jr.

Both victories showed you can overcome ANYTHING and that most Americans are fundamentally good people.

Now, let's take the country back fully: expose the monstrosities of Trump and the Reputincans by investigations based on a ruthless adherence to truth. Show the treason and the corruption and I think more than a few Trumpists who have been gaslighted for several years will change their minds.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, and we have just taken the first giant leap (to paraphrase/mix Lao Tzu and Neil Armstrong)!

But this victory feels like a bullet dodged. I didn't get that feeling in 2008.

2008 was so damn happy because I was a huge Obama fan from his convention speech in 2004. 2012 was a continuation of that.

Today feels like how my parents and family members described what it was like when WWII ended and the world just went crazy when they heard the news. Full disclosure..my mother was in the outhouse when she heard car horns honking and church bells ringing and people yelling. She was afraid to come out. 😂

Then this. This has a lot of relief to it. Obama's was pure excitement. True we wanted rid of Dubya, but not like we want to be rid of that lying Dotard bloated sack of pig's defecation.

If Trump had won and had absolutely no constraints on his behavior, that would have been the end of our country. Maybe that’s overly dramatic but I really believe that.

Obama’s win was a confirmation of the country I hoped and thought we could live in someday. Biden’s win was the salvation of that country. It’s still just a dream but now it’s not dead.
