When the Trumpers Say, "Biden Won Only by a Tiny Margin,"

remind them of the 2016 results, when Trump had even a smaller margin, and lost the popular vote by over 3 million. Biden has a larger margin and a larger popular win, to boot.

Then say, "Sucks to be you, doesn't it?" Only say that, though, if you aren't afraid of the person you're talking to. The truth hurts, and some people will want to hit back.

That Joe and Kamala and all the democratic legislators will be working their hearts out for them too, starting with fighting this lethal virus, regardless of their state or party because we are one nation, and we actually believe those ideals. For us it’s not just words.

And be open to asking next time you see them what the story is today, and then refute that.

Firmly politely as we can muster and with the end goal being a 2022 sweep. One by one peel them away and help them see how they have been lied to and used, and that there is a better way.

Big love to you MineralMan. Aloha.

Worth keeping in mind: Trump’s 2016 victory was narrow. (Lost the popular vote, and won the “blue wall” states by 80,000 votes.) Biden’s victory is substantial (and more conventional).

MineralMan, on a personal note, thank you for all of your posts throughout this entire election cycle, from the primaries through to today's wonderful victory. They kept me focused, calm and anchored. And there were some great laughs in them too.

is that he will be inaugurated and won't look back on the election process, or numbers or crowd sizes. Sure, strategists will need to do that to uncover key learnings and chart re-election, but Biden will get in there and GOVERN. NOT relive the glory days of the race and adoration that came with it.

7. I see only about 80% of California votes counted. I expect the margin of victory to grow.

Attention has been focused on the close swing states, but there is still counting going on in other states.

a popular vote could have been called election night or the next day at the latest. it was only "close" do to imaginary lines on a map. it wasn't close.

However, that will take a constitutional amendment to make happen. At the moment, we are not in a place, politically, where such an amendment could get passed, I think.

So, we will still have the EC in 2024, and who knows how long after that. We must work with the system we have until it is possible to change that system.

Getting rid of the EC is not a high priority for me at the moment. There is much else that needs doing on an emergency priority basis.
